Batiquitos Lagoon
Hemmed in by housing developments, a golf course, and one of the
busiest freeways in the world, Batiquitos Lagoon won't be confused with
the wilderness backcountry. Hikers staying at our San Diego vacation rentals will find interpretive signs along the trail to illustrate the more threatened birds found around the lagoon. Bird watchers, nature lovers and hikers just looking to get a bit closer to nature can find rare and endangered species in this habitat, including the yellow warbler, the red-necked phalarope, marbled godwit, elegant tern, California least tern, snowy plover, and Belding savannah sparrow.

Blue Sky Reserve
Established in 1989, Blue Sky Reserve invites San Diego vacation rentals guests and their families to enjoy a bounty of natural sights and sounds. Hosting rare and threatened plant and animal species, a hiker may discover riparian, mixed chaparral, oak woodland and coastal sage scrub environments.
